Slow Down, Roadworkers Around

Road workers are some of the most vulnerable people on our roads.

From 2016 to 2020, there were 39 people injured or killed in road crashes involving road workers in NSW.

Research suggests that many motorists admit to driving over the designated speed limit in road works, particularly if they believe there are no road workers present. However, this is not always the case, with many road workers experiencing countless near misses on a daily basis.

By going too fast and not paying attention to their surroundings, drivers are putting the road workers who are making our roads safer at risk.

So make sure you slow down and drive under the designated speed limit at roadworks, look out for road workers and obey signals from traffic controllers.
